University of Iowa.
I hope to become a rural librarian where I can develop programs to help my community and other small libraries use and obtain new technology, improve collections, record the community's unique histories, reach ALL community members and transform the library into a cooperative community center. I envision a resource-filled library where anyone can come to get (and/or find out how to get) the things and help they need, have questions answered, learn new things, connect with others, be treated with respect, and have

Woodward Public Library
July 2022 - Present
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with youth of all ages and their families in the Woodward community. We have an active story time, teen nights and family nights. Working in a small library - with a small budget- has allowed me to build some creative muscles! I regularly create low cost programs that effectively engage our patrons and community. I have had the experience of creating marketing/promotional materials, program creation, website maintenance, and working on social media compaigns. I also have been able to work closely with the director on collection managemnt and updating catalog records. I find the hardest part of my job is going home becasue there is so much to do!
November 2021 - Present
I work part-time in the patron experience department. I regularly work in reference, youth services, front desk, check-in, and phones. My favorite part of my job is helping patrons with questions ranging from using the computer to filling out a job application to research and conducting reader's advisory especially with youth and children.
